Food Bank Project
Tuesdays
11:00am to midday
We are here to serve and support the people of Syston who are struggling to feed their families and need a helping hand. If you’re facing difficult times, you are not alone. We’re here to help.
If you’re looking for ways to support or get involved with the Food Project, you’ll find more information further down this page.
What to Expect
When you visit, you’ll find a friendly and welcoming team ready to offer support in a caring and non-judgemental way. We provide food parcels tailored to your family size and any dietary needs, offering initial support for up to three weeks.
We call our support “More than Food” as we aim to get alongside you on a non-judgemental basis and understand how we can help in whatever way we can. We invite you to sit down with us, have a hot drink, and chat. We can offer guidance on:
Benefits advice and reviews
Help with forms, including Personal Independence Payment and Attendance Allowance
Budgeting and cost-saving ideas
Debt advice
CV help and job searches
Signposting to other services
A listening ear

How You Can Help
As a church, we believe in showing Christ’s love in action by caring for those in need. There are two key ways you can support this vital ministry:
Donate
Each Sunday, we have a Food Bank Drop-Off area in church where you can leave donations of non-perishable food and toiletries. If you would prefer to give financially, you can get in touch with the Soar Valley Community Food Project using the contact details on this page. All donations, whether food or financial, go directly to the Soar Valley Community Food Project. Every donation makes a real difference to a family in need.
Volunteer
The Food Bank Project isn’t just about handing out food, it’s about building connections and offering hope. Our volunteers help with distribution, making cups of tea, and simply being there to listen and chat. It’s an opportunity to share kindness, encouragement, and, when the moment is right, the love of Jesus.
Whether you can give food, time, or a warm conversation, you are helping to make a real impact in our community. If you’d like to get involved, speak to a member of the team on Sunday or contact us.
And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
